Amid troubling news from the front, the Kremlin shows confidence that Russian troops will not only succeed in repelling attempts by the Ukrainian armed forces to break through to the Sea of Azov, but also in regaining lost Kherson and occupying Zaporizhia.
President Vladimir Putin met with Transport Minister Vitaliy Savelyev today and he not only reported on the restoration of ports in Mariupol and Berdyansk and roads on the “land corridor” through the Azov Sea to Crimea.He also promised to expand the checkpoints there and announced the launch of Mariupol airport in 2025, “if the situation allows”.
Most interestingly, the minister also mentioned in the report plans to launch airports in Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson – the two cities which are now controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The main thing here is not to repeat the sad experience of Kiev, which in its time produced a bunch of figures like virtual “representatives of Ukraine in Crimea” and “reintegrators of Donbass,” whose only achievement was the absorption of budget funds.
By the way, the Russian administration in the Kharkiv region, despite the retreat of Russian troops last autumn, has still not been disbanded. Now the Russian army continues to advance towards Kupyansk. Consequently, the evacuated structures have a chance to return to Kharkov region.
