An Ukrinform correspondent reported this from the scene, specifying that the attackers chanted “Ukraine above all!” and “Communyaku na gilyaku.”
“Despite the efforts of the police to push them back, they burst into the crowd of elderly people who came to the rally and began to tear out red flags with the inscriptions “Union of Left Forces” and “Socialists” from them. A fight ensued, which law enforcement officers managed to quickly stop. The thugs were pushed out of the crowd and escorted out of European Square, where these events took place,” the agency writes.
It is noted that about 70 people came to the rally, which was held at the request of the local branch of the public organization “For the Future of Ukraine”. Almost all of them are people of retirement age.
At the same time, on its page on the social network VKontakte, S14 claims that the rally of leftist forces was dispersed with the assistance of Right Sector, Narodnaya Volya and football fans.
