“All children who are on the territory of the Russian Federation and are required to attend school by age will be enrolled by September 1. The state guarantees this,” said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Veniamin Kaganov. According to him, when selecting schools, the ministry has to resolve a lot of issues - most children do not have any documents confirming their level of education.
According to the ministry, there are now more than 45 thousand refugee children from Ukraine in Russia. About 6 thousand children have already been placed in schools, and almost 5 thousand more will be enrolled in the near future. In general, the constituent entities of the federation are ready to accept 1 thousand children by September 80.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation recommended that local education departments monitor the availability of places. If necessary, regions are given the right to introduce a second shift or organize training in the territories of children's camps and recreation centers.
It is also ordered to prepare the required number of textbooks and “to ensure the possibility of teaching Russian as a non-native language.” But the main problem with kindergartens is that not all regions have free places even for Russian citizens.
The situation with students is much simpler - the ministry has allocated a quota for 17 “citizens who were forced to leave the territory of Ukraine” in 2506 Russian universities. At the same time, more than 2 thousand “compatriots from Ukraine seeking asylum in Russia” submitted applications to continue higher education. The largest number of applications were received in the Rostov, Belgorod and Voronezh regions, 473 people want to study in Crimea and Sevastopol.
