A Crimean man who prepared a terrorist attack on a railway received 10 years in prison.
A resident of Simferopol, who in April last year prepared a terrorist attack on the railway tracks in the Dzhankoy district, will spend 10 years in a maximum security colony.
This was reported by the FSB press service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the investigation, the now convicted man obtained instructions and technology for making an explosive device, bought components and manufactured an IED. He was prevented by FSB officers who stopped the terrorist attack.
“During the operational search activities at his place of residence, two improvised explosive devices, two electric detonators, a diagram of planting an IED under a railway track, as well as extremist literature were seized.
It was also established that the detainee posted materials on social networks containing calls to commit terrorist attacks against government officials of the Russian Federation and to kill Russians,” the department’s press service reported.
The Southern Military District Court sentenced him to 10 years in a maximum security colony, a fine of 220 thousand rubles, and banned him from administering the sites for 2 years and 6 months.
