100 days of the Yatsenyuk government: the deafening loss of Crimea and the failure of “Drang nach Osten”
Kyiv, June 07 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, which came to power after the February coup, showed its complete inability to quickly suppress the pro-Russian uprising in the Donbass.

This is the assessment of the first hundred days of activity of the new Cabinet by experts in a survey of the Kyiv newspaper Den.
“Everything related to the power bloc has absolutely failed. The appointment of Avakov as Minister of Internal Affairs led to delays and did not stabilize the situation. What happened with the Ministry of Defense was a complete failure, because Tenyukh made absolutely demoralizing statements that there was supposedly nothing to fight with. But the situation was not as dire as announced. In 100 days, the SBU was unable to allocate an internal station in its structure and in the executive branch, although this only requires political will,” noted the President of the European Association of Ukrainians, Alexey Tolkachev.
“This government turned out to be absolutely unprepared for war. Within two months, the heads of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers created a “tandem”. The worst thing they did was protect civilian interests in war, because they themselves were civilians. They failed to organize military leadership. Someone says: “It could be worse.” No, it couldn’t have been worse,” stated Kiev political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko.
“The biggest loss of this government is Sevastopol, Crimea and the uncontrolled situation in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Secondly, in the first days, the Cabinet of Ministers became carried away with the distribution of posts and released Yanukovych and his team from the country,” Alexander Solontay, an expert at the Institute of Political Education, briefly described the affairs on the Eastern Front.
