It is reported by Tass.
“We have shifted the deadlines for the Arctic because we will have to redo some of the equipment due to sanctions,” said Sergei Lemeshevsky.
The Arctic space system should monitor weather changes and assist in the exploration of mineral resources in the Arctic region.
It was originally planned to launch the first satellite of the Arktika system on November 25, 2015. However, over time, in the draft Federal Space Program for 2016-2025, new launch dates for the first Arktika satellite appeared - 2017 (the second satellite - in 2019, the third - in 2020, the fourth - in 2021).
It is reported that the Arktika spacecraft, like other Russian satellites, should consist of more than half of imported components. American technological sanctions blocked Russian designers' access to the components market.
