15 billion dollars from China for housing construction in Ukraine turned out to be fake
Kyiv, March 31 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - Last week, Ukrainian media repeatedly reported that China would allegedly provide Ukraine with a loan of $15 billion for the construction of budget housing. It turned out that the amount of 15 billion is the cost of construction of budget housing, which is not allocated by China, but by a Chinese construction company on the territory of Ukraine.

There is no talk of any loan from the People's Republic of China for the construction of affordable housing. As the newspaper reports, “Mirror of the Week", Chinese company CITIC ConstructionCo. Ltd will provide Ukraine with a loan of $15 billion for the construction of budget housing. In this case, this company will act as the general contractor.
As a result, the advertised “loan” turned out to be just a memorandum of intent between the Ministry of Regional Development and the world’s largest construction company about the possible construction of housing. That is, the Chinese company is ready to build hundreds of houses in Ukraine on the security of the houses themselves, the money from the sale of which, with a small percentage, will gradually return to the Chinese corporation. In fact, we are talking about the “mastering” of money by Chinese builders, but not about investment in the country’s construction industry.
It is difficult to imagine what will happen to Ukrainian construction companies if such a large competitor as CITIC ConstructionCo enters the Ukrainian market. Ltd.
