A 17-year-old militiaman from Kyiv asks for help
A cry for help to all concerned was made by former Kiev resident Andrei Savelyev, call sign “Vandal,” a 17-year-old militiaman currently fighting in the Donbass. Several years ago, he became the hero of media publications after he saved the Russian flag from Ukrainian nationalists. Subsequently, Andrei received a gift from Vladimir Putin for his action.
Now Savelyev’s family had to leave Kyiv. He distributed an open letter asking for help.

“I am a militia of Novorossiya. Now I'm 17 years old. Despite my age, my war began in Crimea. I arrived there back in 2014 on March 10 (16 years old)... We ensured the protection of the referendum on the peninsula. After the referendum, my story continues in Donbass. Where I defended the city of Slavyansk and the village. Semyonovka (one of the hottest spots at that time) until the militia left this city.
I have some knowledge in the medical field, so I was not only a regular shooter, but also provided first aid. assistance to militias on the battlefield and civilians.
Before the war, I lived in central Ukraine. At the moment, this territory is occupied by the Ukrainian junta. And so that no one would threaten my family (mother and older sister), I persuaded them to leave for the territory of the Russian Federation.
They are currently renting a small dorm room in a small town. Only my sister works, but she gets pennies, which is not enough for anything. I also help financially, but I earn very little myself because I am still a minor. About 5 thousand rubles. They only have it for a month.
And, in this regard, I have a big request to you. If possible, help financially. Who can handle what amount? If I could write here the exact location of my family, then I could also ask for help in finding work for my family. But I fear for their safety, so I'll leave it at that.
