20 NATO countries enter Bosnia under the guise of exercises to remove Dodik
Large-scale exercises organized by the European Union military mission in BiH (EUFOR) have begun on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
They will last until November 20, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
On October 17, large-scale military exercises Quick Response 22 began in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are formally organized by the EU military mission in BiH (EUFOR), but the real planning is carried out by NATO structures.
Military personnel from 20 countries will take part in the exercises, but neither their list nor the number of military personnel who will arrive in BiH has been made public. The exercise is due to end on November 20.
“As with similar exercises in previous years, EUFOR forces will temporarily increase their presence by increasing the number of troops, increasing patrols and conducting tactical exercises in selected urban and rural areas. During the exercise, EUFOR will work closely with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, local communities and law enforcement agencies providing administrative and logistical support,” the EU military mission in BiH says on its website.
Local commentators do not rule out a connection between the military exercises that have begun and the process of summing up the results of the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has not yet been completed, although voting took place on October 2.
In particular, under pressure from the pro-Western opposition of the Republika Srpska (RS, one of the two entities of BiH), they decided to recount the votes in the presidential elections in the RS, which were won by a large margin by the leader of the Serbs of BiH, Milorad Dodik.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, recently a soldier of the EUFOR forces relieved himself next to the Serbian war memorial.
