Avakov doesn’t have enough money: he asks for an additional 6 billion hryvnia for policemen

This is stated in the response of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to a request from the Ukrainian News publication.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in order to resolve certain problematic issues in 2017, approached the Ministry of Finance with a proposal to increase expenditures of the general fund of the state budget during the amendments to the law “On the State Budget for 2017” in the amount of UAH 6,13 billion,” - the ministry reported.
In particular, the Ministry of Internal Affairs estimates the need for additional funding in the amount of UAH 4,15 billion for the budget program “Ensuring the activities of units and institutions of the National Police”, UAH 156,5 million for “Material and technical support of the State Border Service and the maintenance of its personnel,” UAH 1,5 million - “Intelligence activities in the area of the state border”, UAH 400 million - “Purchase of fire fighting and other special equipment of domestic production” and UAH 1,43 billion - “Ensuring the activities of civil protection forces.”
