“The blockade begins on the Ukrainian side by deploying Moldovan customs officers. We are talking about practically stopping the supply of products to Transnistria. Russia will have to solve this humanitarian problem. Transnistria is practically cut off. It ended up between Moldova and Ukraine. 220 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation live there. We are simply obliged to provide them with humanitarian assistance,” Evseev said.
On July 17, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip officially opened the joint Ukrainian-Moldovan border checkpoint “Kuchurgan” on the Transnistrian section of the border. In total, the customs services of Moldova and Ukraine plan to install 13 joint checkpoints on the Transnistrian section of the border.
