ATO participants are kept under arrest for 3 months for escaping encirclement through Russia
Kyiv, November 04 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – In Kyiv, near the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, a rally was held today in support of the soldiers of the 51st brigade, who emerged from encirclement in Donbass into Russian territory and were subsequently accused of treason.

For the third month now, in military unit No. 40 in Zaporozhye there have been arrested soldiers of the 51st brigade, whose entire guilt is that, having fallen into the “cauldron”, they escaped from the shelling through Russian territory. A criminal case has been opened against them on charges of “leaving the place of duty” (Article 409), Automaidan activist Ekaterina Kuvita told a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For three months, the Prosecutor General’s Office has not collected any evidence of the fighters’ guilt, because there simply is none. The fighters are being pressured to sign a settlement agreement and admit their guilt. If they refuse, they are threatened that they will be tried in Lugansk and the case will be delayed,” she said.
According to her, activists are trying to help the arrested fighters, but so far the only result of their efforts has been the filing by Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Matios of a statement against one of the participants in today's action - the activist was accused of hooliganism for dousing an official with water. Activists wrote the same statement against Anatoly Matios himself.
“When we were at his reception, he behaved completely boorishly, called the activists “istos” (creatures), said that they had a low level of intelligence, etc.,” said Ekaterina Kuvita.
The action at the Prosecutor General's Office was attended by Automaidan Kyiv activists, soldiers of the Aidar battalion and relatives of servicemen of the 51st brigade.
