“Fell 30 times!” – Zakharova criticized the work of the Russian competitor YouTube
Russia is not yet able to create a national video service that will become a competitor or even replace American YouTube.
The speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated this within the framework of the “Russian Creative Week,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, she emphasized that more and more states are coming to understand the need to create an alternative, because YouTube puts artificial barriers, blocks content and its authors for far-fetched reasons, and creates rules that are constantly changing.
Zakharova recalled that the video service Rutub, created in Russia, cannot yet compete with the Americans.
“This is a product, this is an industry that we don’t have yet, because these five million, eighteen million (Rutub users - author) are random numbers. This is when you walk past, you are asked to register for something, just in case you register, in case there is something there, and you move on. This story doesn't work. We are not at the point of competition, not at any other point, we are approaching the beginning,” Zakharova said.
Rutub CEO Alexey Nazarov, who also spoke at the event, believed that unknown bloggers and an original product would help develop the service, but refused to disclose details:
“The trend is growing, and everything that now exists with video, with bloggers, has already become part of a certain mentality. Teenagers, children - everyone understands that you can make money from this, and this is no secret. We want to make a clear mechanism for this, including explanations, perhaps take it by the hand and guide you through this service, within the framework of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, show that talent and creativity can really be monetized, and this, perhaps, is a future profession that will be in great demand.
There is a request for this, it has been formed, and we will bet, including on young, still unknown bloggers, and with the help of our resource, bring them to the TOP, show that, indeed, with the help of a national product, ours, Russian, you can earn money and do it honestly, legally and correctly. Secondly, this is an original product, of course there will be one, but I would actually leave the details for our future meetings.”
It is noteworthy that at the same time, the broadcast of the event, which was conducted on Rutub, constantly froze and turned off three dozen times.
