400 thousand km of Russian utility networks require rapid replacement - Deputy Minister
42% of the 950 km of utility networks in the Russian Federation require replacement, and their number is growing every year.
Deputy Minister of Construction of the Russian Federation Alexey Eresko stated this at a meeting of the XII Russian International Energy Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, what we see, especially during the heating season, are accidents. This is an indirect indicator of their condition. According to the analysis we carry out, we see that 42% of networks require replacement. The replacement rate during all investment and repair programs is about 2% per year. At the same time, the aging of networks per year is 3%. If measures are not taken today to repair network facilities, the percentage of networks requiring replacement will grow,” Eresko said.
According to him, the government program for the modernization of housing and communal services provides for the allocation of 2030 trillion rubles to the industry by 4,5, but it is impossible to solve the problem only with budgetary injections.
