This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future. Every fourth person indicated that they have no trust in banks, but would still keep their savings in them. And only 6,8% expressed their trust in banks.
The older the respondents, the greater the level of distrust. 49,7% of respondents aged 18-24 do not trust Ukrainian banks, and in the age group 50 and older this figure is already 63,3%.
Respondents do not have a unanimous opinion regarding the nationalization of Privatbank by the state. However, 38,7% of respondents do not support the idea of nationalization, while 27,5% support it. 33,7% could not decide on the answer.
Respondents in the western region (34%) more often indicated that they supported nationalization, while respondents in the eastern region did not (53,6%).
The lower the financial situation of respondents, the higher the percentage of those who do not have a clear opinion on this issue. Respondents who rated their financial situation as average or poor are less supportive of nationalization (25,8% and 26,8%, respectively).
The survey was conducted on November 21-28, 2016 in 105 settlements in all regions of Ukraine controlled by Kyiv. 2000 people were interviewed using the method of face-to-face interviews. The theoretical sampling error is 2,3%.
