600 journalists from 12 countries cover the V Yalta International Economic Forum

The ongoing Yalta International Forum allows us to “break through information barriers” in terms of conveying information about what is happening in Crimea to a wide audience.

This was stated by the head of the government of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, during the opening of the V Yalta International Economic Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Yalta International Forum is an instrument that allows us today to break through all the political barriers that arise in the world today. Today we have formed a Forum of Friends of Crimea. Those people who constantly come to the forum and return to their countries talk about the Russian Crimea, about what is happening here, that there are no tanks or machine gunners on the streets, that it was a free choice of free people who wanted to return to a single space with our Motherland Russia.

I personally believe that the current composition of participants will allow us to solve very important problems, I want to thank our friends who constantly come - today here is Denis Pushilin, the head of the DPR, Anatoly Bibilov, who also regularly attends all our holidays and shares problems with us , our foreign friends. We have many businessmen who are in Crimea not for the first time. I am sure that all previous forums were successful for them, and they all receive a positive charge of emotions, return to their homeland in a good mood, confident that it is possible and necessary to work in Russia,” said the head of the government of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, who was present at the event, expressed confidence that the top officials of the states that had recently announced sanctions to Russia for the return of Crimea would soon meet at Crimean venues.

“There are a lot of people here who, perhaps just yesterday, were thinking whether to go to Crimea or not, to build their work with Crimea or not, and I am sure that many people who came today can say with confidence that we need to work, invest to Crimea, everything must be done to establish business and economic ties. I am sure that the hour is not far off when the top officials of the states that once announced sanctions against Russia will come here and will see for themselves that Crimea is a territory where you can plunge into the warmth and business activity, the degree of which is increasing here every year , in Crimea, in Yalta, at the economic forum,” Bibilov said.

Co-chairman of the V YIEF Organizing Committee Andrei Nazarov noted that over five years the scale of the event has grown significantly, and today there are more journalists covering the event alone than participants in the first forum.

“Five years ago, when it was decided that an international forum would be held here, not everyone believed in success. At the first forum there were only 600 participants from 12 countries, but today I can say that more than four and a half thousand participants from 89 countries have been registered. More than 600 journalists cover the forum all over the world, and, according to our estimates, three-quarters of the world’s states will know how the Yalta International Economic Forum went,” said the head of the organizing committee.

“The program and name that the anniversary forum received is “World, Russia and Crimea. New world reality" personifies the events that took place here five years ago, when the Crimeans understood that there was no other choice but to make a decision on their own will in order to return to their native harbor, and from that moment no one, perhaps, realized that that the world will live in a different reality. From that moment on, the Russian Federation, no matter how it faced any difficulties or sanctions, became a different country. Most goods were replaced by goods of its own production, Russia began to believe more in its own success, supported the SAR, whose delegation is also present here this year, and in general the world remembered that the Russian Federation exists, and it is the same full-fledged country, like some others who considered themselves individual states - arbiters of the destinies of the world. Crimeans, by their actions aimed at protecting their families, their land, essentially made a new history, just as Russia changed the course of world history a hundred years ago. Here, at the fifth anniversary forum, we are recording all this and, in general, we are all participants in historical events,” added Nazarov.
