This was announced by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik.
“The first deliveries should arrive on May 7 (from South Africa - Ed.). Chartered... 280 thousand tons (anthracite group coal - Ed.). But South Africa does not have the volumes that we need. We will be closed in May. But we already need to prepare for winter, so I think that there will be planned deliveries in June-August,” he said.
Let us remind you that the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik reported that Ukraine has already begun to contract coal from South Africa, which will partially arrive in May, and expects to purchase coal from America.
He said that Ukraine needs 4,7 million tons of coal by January 1, 2018.
According to the minister, Ukraine received information from the United States that they could supply 2,5-3 million tons of coal.
Let us remind you that after the imposition of the blockade of the DPR and LPR, Ukraine was cut off from coal supplies from Donbass, since most of the mines are located in territory uncontrolled by Kiev.
