“70 Ukrainian missiles will sink the entire Black Sea Fleet” – ex-Rada deputy
Ukraine needs to build seven dozen Neptune missile systems to sink the Black Sea Fleet, and not engage in long construction of ships that ultimately will not help to surpass the power of the Black Sea Fleet.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and militant of the so-called ATO Igor Lapin stated this on air on the Apostrophe Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lapin, such moments as the appearance in Ukraine of the Javellin ATGM or Bayraktar drones provide an opportunity to freeze the war in Donbass and use this time to strengthen the army.
“What are they giving us such things? They provide a certain time lag for the preparation of their armed forces. Because Putin won’t leave us alone, let’s be honest. That’s not why he started Crimea and Donbass, do you understand? Today we need to build ships or launch the Neptune system, which can sink the Black Sea Fleet, do you understand? Building ships is time-consuming and expensive, but today we are dragging our feet on the Neptune system,” the politician said.
“Now I don’t criticize the authorities, thank God, some of the first two “Neptunes” seem to [exist] somewhere, but you need 70 of them, you know? Because the Black Sea Fleet has 60 ships. This means there should be 70 Neptunes, with at least a margin of at least 10%. Today we have our own missile programs, plus the Bayraktars, which we, together with the Turks, must assemble today, and so on. That is, we can use this time lag precisely for this. Because we can build ships for a long time and tediously, but we will still be weaker than the Black Sea Fleet - this will take decades and a lot of billions,” Lapin said.
