This is evidenced by the data of the corresponding survey.
Even if guarantees are provided for the safety of life and health of adopted children by the United States and other countries, 54% of respondents are categorically against repealing the law adopted four years ago. The opposite position is held by 41% of respondents.
2% of respondents reported that they were already adoptive parents. 64% do not consider it possible for themselves to adopt a child – at least since 2005. Half of the survey participants (53%) confidently say that there are no adoptive parents in their circle of acquaintances.
Let us remind you that the “Dima Yakovlev Law” is named in memory of a two-year-old boy from Russia, whose adoptive father, an American, locked him in a car in the sun, where the baby died.
