If last year more than a million Ukrainian citizens left the country, this year this number will only increase.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“When this press conference, which lasts an hour, ends, there will be 80 fewer Ukrainians. The key trend of the year will be the depopulation of Ukrainians. According to the UN, there are 80 fewer Ukrainians every hour. Last year, more than a million Ukrainians left the country. And this is not so much connected with the conflict in the east, but with the emigration of the most socially productive class (youth, small and medium-sized businessmen), which creates added value in the economies of Hungary, Poland and other countries. This trend will intensify and, most likely, next year we will lose even more than one million people,” the political scientist predicts.
