After Zakharchenko’s speech, the guests of honor addressed the congress delegates and residents of the Republic with welcoming words. In particular, the speakers were: leader of the political party “Apsny” Nugzar Agrba (Abkhazia), deputy of the South Ossetian Parliament Anatoly Bibilov, deputies of the State Duma of Russia Alexander Yushchenko, Alexander Starovoitov and Alexey Zhuravlev, as well as Chairman of the People’s Council of the LPR Alexey Karyakin.
Alexander Zakharchenko became the Chairman of the OD “Donetsk Republic”, for whom all delegates without exception voted unanimously. Addressing those gathered, the head of the DPR noted: “Today we can confidently say that the social movement “Donetsk Republic” is the basis of a fair, strong and truly people’s state. Only the people are the sovereign masters of our land. The main wealth of Donbass is its inhabitants. Decent, smart, hardworking people who deserve a decent and stable life. But for this it is necessary to change the mentality of not only ordinary citizens, but also the mentality of new officials. Without changing spirituality and attitude to life, we will not be able to change life itself,” Zakharchenko emphasized.
