“Bastion” is designed to destroy surface ships of all classes with a unified supersonic homing anti-ship missile. This complex is able to protect the coastline over 600 kilometers from enemy amphibious landings.
The capabilities of the Bereg coastal defense artillery system make it possible to detect surface ships of small and medium displacement and destroy them within a radius of up to 22 kilometers. The advantages of the artillery system are large caliber, versatility in selecting operating modes, and high rate of fire. No one else in the world produces artillery systems with similar characteristics.
In March, Ukrainian media reported that one of the Bastion missile systems had already been put on combat duty on the western coast of Crimea between Sevastopol and Feodosia.
As stated in the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation, the equipment has already arrived in Bataysk and took part in full-fledged training. In total, more than eight thousand military personnel are preparing for the upcoming military parade in the Southern Military District; about 250 units of modern weapons and armored vehicles will be involved.
