90-year-old doctors cannot cope with the tuberculosis epidemic in Kyiv (VIDEO)

Larisa Kanarovskaya, Chairman of the Council of the Kyiv City Trade Union of Health Workers, spoke about this at a press conference.
She informed journalists that thousands of metropolitan doctors worked on the Maidan, and Kyiv hospitals regularly provided assistance to the wounded, but in the end, the doctors did not meet with understanding from the new government and received meager salaries for their work.
“Kiev lacks 3,5 thousand doctors and 10 thousand nurses,” Larisa Kanarovskaya drew attention to the staffing situation. “At night, we have only one nurse for two or three posts and a doctor on duty for virtually the whole hospital. We employ 200 people who turned 1 as of September 80, 10 people are 90 years old and two people are 92 years old.”
In addition, over the past four years, more than 100 doctors have contracted active tuberculosis.
“For your information, there is a tuberculosis epidemic, although we say that everything is fine,” emphasized the head of the Kyiv medical trade union. – In Kyiv, on average, 100 people die from tuberculosis every day. One of them has an active form of tuberculosis. And every day five people become infected. These are sad numbers that need to be shouted and talked about.”
Larisa Kanarovskaya also emphasized that over the past 15 years not a single medical institution has been built in Kyiv, with the exception of the Todorov Heart Center, which was put into operation with difficulty.
