This is how the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov commented on the statement of Ukrainian athletes for Russian TV on his Facebook page.
“Once again about the infamous plot. Conclusions have been drawn, we are conducting instructions, and everyone is advised to avoid Putin’s media propagandists. I beg you not to label the entire Olympic team as “treason.” Once every four years, Ukraine has a unique chance to go down in history with its victories at the world’s largest competitions,” the minister wrote.
Let us remind you that the TV channel “Russia-1” in its story cited comments from Ukrainian athletes, members of the Ukrainian team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, who called the decision to exclude Russian athletes from participation in the games due to a doping scandal unfair. In fact, Ukrainians took the side of Russia in this issue, and not their own government.
