The Rada announced new arrests of journalists on charges of working for Russia
Following the editor of the opposition publication Strana.UA, Igor Guzhva, other journalists are also expected to be arrested on charges of working for Russia.
The repressions were announced from the platform of the Verkhovna Rada by deputy Dmitry Linko, from whom, according to investigators, Guzhva extorted money for refusing to publish compromising materials.

According to Linko, the detention of the “open anti-Ukrainian propagandist, Kremlin agent” Guzhva is “a victory on the second front of the hybrid war, the information one.”
“We hope this doesn’t end there. There are a huge number of direct Kremlin agents operating in Ukraine who are waging a propaganda war... This is a matter of national security... It is very significant that during this detention all the “Kremlin canned goods” who should be in prison for crimes against the Maidan were revealed... There is simply no end to the work for our special services . What has not been done in three years must be done through our common efforts in the near future. To win the war, to defeat Russia,” the deputy said.
“They all have two things in common. They sincerely hate Ukraine and love money very much... There are already facts confirming Mr. Guzhva’s direct connection with Moscow. Its financing... This site was controlled directly by the FSB from Moscow,” Linko emphasized.
“Thank you for your courageous position,” speaker Andrei Parubiy praised Lyashko’s young ally.
