The diplomat stated this at a press conference dedicated to Russia’s chairmanship of the UN Security Council, a Navigator correspondent reports.
“We hope that after his inauguration something different will follow from him, because if they continue to carry out this operation, it will be a very bad start to his presidency in Ukraine and will complicate his job if he is truly interested in ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine "- said Churkin.
In addition, the diplomat expressed confidence that Russia will independently complete the investigation into the May 2 tragedy in Odessa, when 48 people died as a result of clashes between Anti-Maidan supporters and pro-European radicals.
“There are several different investigations going on in Ukraine, and there are people interested in delaying them and leading them astray, this is very worrying. There are signs that the massacre in Odessa occurred with the knowledge of Kyiv, we will bring the investigation to the end,” Churkin said.
