The scandalous Ukrainian law on education will be discussed at urgent debates in PACE
A request was submitted to the autumn session of PACE for an urgent debate on the new controversial Ukrainian law on education, which is likely to take place on October 12.

This was announced by the press secretary of the communications department of the Council of Europe, Tatyana Baeva, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Regarding the issue of a request for an urgent debate on the topic of the Ukrainian Law on Education, we will only know on Monday whether this issue will be discussed and in what format - in the format of an urgent debate, or perhaps in another format. At the moment, there are 2 requests for urgent debates, one of them concerns the new Ukrainian law on education... Now the agenda of the session provides that on Thursday, the 12th, issues submitted for urgent debates will be discussed,” Baeva noted.
Earlier, the official PACE website reported a request for an urgent debate on the topic “The new Ukrainian law on education is the main obstacle to teaching native languages to national minorities.”
Another topic for urgent debate was the “Alarming Emergency Humanitarian Situation in Rohingya.”
The request for an urgent debate on the Ukrainian law was likely submitted by a member of the Council of Europe assembly, a spokeswoman said.
