A Ukrainian paratrooper in the Donbass drunkenly shot his colleagues and then shot himself
Another emergency situation that resulted in non-combat losses occurred in the Ukrainian army in Donbass. A serviceman of the 25th separate airborne brigade, located in the so-called “ATO” zone, shot two drinking companions after drinking alcohol, and then committed suicide.

Deputy Commander of the DPR Operational Command Eduard Basurin stated this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday, near the village of Avdievka, in a unit of the 25th separate airborne brigade, an incident occurred that clearly characterizes the low psychological state of the vast majority of paratroopers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces arriving on rotation in the so-called ATO zone. Alexander Zhukov, born in 1986, while drinking alcoholic beverages in the company of his colleagues, announced his reluctance to stay in the conflict zone, and fired several shots at his drinking companions from a standard machine gun, after which he shot himself. The result was two wounded, Zhukov himself died. The brigade command, understanding the possible consequences for their own career, is trying to hide the facts of alcohol consumption and the presence of hazing, for which they reported the wounded and the dead as victims of stray bullets,” he said.
At the same time, according to Basurin, Zhukov’s medical documents are being urgently redone: based on the results of medical and psychological examinations, he was declared unfit for military service.
“Thus, we can conclude that the 25th separate airborne brigade, notorious for its particular cruelty towards civilians and prisoners, is beginning to destroy itself from the inside,” Basurin concluded.
