Pavel Rudyakov, director of the Perspektiva information and analytical center, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a law that strengthens Poroshenko. The President receives additional leverage on the situation both in the east and in the country as a whole. And this is not a step towards peace or war, this is a step towards elections. Moreover, the elections are undemocratic. Our elections in 2014 were far from democratic procedures. Previously, these procedures worked for us in a very specific way, but in 2014 it was an apotheosis. It seemed that nothing more could happen. It turns out it can. With the help of this law, it is possible, firstly, to cut off part of the electorate. And it will be possible to weed out the wrong candidates.
From the point of view of the Minsk agreements, this is, of course, an outright spit in the direction of these agreements and an admission that no one was going to take on them,” he said.
