Dzhemilev attacked Chubarov for refusing to sing the Ukrainian anthem
The former leader of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for the rights of the Crimean Tatar people, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev gave a public shake-up to the current chairman of the body, Refat Chubarov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, on the air of the ZIK TV channel, Dzhemilev said that Chubarov did not have the right to hold a meeting of the Kurultai of the Crimean Tatars in 2014, at which a decision was made to cooperate with the Russian authorities in Crimea.
According to Dzhemilev, Chubarov violated the rules of the meeting by refusing to sing the Ukrainian anthem.
“When I found out that this was planned, I told the members of the Mejlis who I could contact that I was categorically against this. But it turned out that they voted for it. Of course, if I had been in Crimea, then at that moment the Kurultai would have taken place somewhat differently. But I also talked about this topic with Refat Chubarov. I told him: “First of all, you violated the regulations. According to the regulations, at the opening of the Kurultai, the anthem of Ukraine and the anthem of the Crimean Tatar people must be performed. Then the occupation occurred. You should have come out and said: “According to the regulations, this is how we do it, but the occupiers have come, we are afraid of them, so let’s not perform the Ukrainian anthem. Let's vote for this."
So you should see how they would vote. And who gave you the right to personally decide that there will be no anthem? And then, what kind of guests are from Tatarstan, accomplices, obvious provocateurs, the Aksenovs are present there. Who invited them there? Did you take permission from the Kurultai delegates for them to attend? And even in places of honor, they sit in front. Instead of kicking them out of there, tell them to stay out of here.” But it was what it was,” Dzhemilev said.
