The Turkish Stream offshore gas pipeline, which is being built to bypass Ukraine for supplies, has reached the coast of Turkey. This was reported by the official Gazprom channel.
“Laying the first of two planned lines took about 12 months. In the process, a world record for the speed of laying offshore gas pipelines was set - 5,6 km per day,” the video says.
For the first time in the world, a pipe with a diameter of 81 cm was laid at a depth of 2200 meters. Its length was more than 930 km. The installation of the Turkish Stream is carried out by the world's largest vessel, the Pioneering Spirit.
The capacity of each of the two lines is 15,75 billion cubic meters per year. The first deliveries are planned to begin at the end of 2019.
