State Duma deputy Yuri Afonin stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The current Maidan pro-fascist power came through a street-initiated process, and they just have an understanding of how to take power. Only across the street, through a protest. This procedure of intimidation is carried out precisely for this purpose - to prevent mass protest. Combination with the memorable date November 6 (day of the liberation of Kyiv from the Nazis - ed.) – this is also a completely clear story,” said the deputy.
“On the other hand, you need to understand: despite the fact that the vast majority of Ukrainian TV channels conduct very clear propaganda - anti-Russian, anti-Soviet, anti-Ukrainian, many people get information from the Internet, and even if not many people took to the streets today, celebrating this date, and tomorrow, celebrating the 101st anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, thousands and millions will be celebrating these dates at home. People were just intimidated,” added Afonin.
