Deputy head of the presidential administration Valery Chaly stated this on air on the Kyiv Channel 5.
“In any development of events, maintaining the possibility of a peaceful solution through dialogue, negotiations - I think this should be used. And war always ends in peace, and peace requires negotiations. Not with terrorists, mercenaries who cannot control themselves, but with the responsible party. Who may be the responsible party in the settlement? Is it possible to leave Russia outside of this dialogue? I don't think so. Because Russia influences the situation, but this dialogue should also take place with the participation of our partners from Europe and the USA,” the official noted.
“Therefore, what remains now is the so-called Normandy format, in which the President of France, the Chancellor of Germany, and the presidents of Russia and Ukraine participate. There are possibilities of resuming the Geneva format with the participation of the US and the EU. Please note that in the European Parliament resolution there is already a decision for the European side to be more involved in the process, and I think the next stage is when we will involve the European side more in this mediation or settlement. At the same time, the OSCE and the contact group remain - in principle, such multilateral formats are now needed in order to find solutions to peace, not war,” emphasized Valery Chaly.
