Opinion: The attack on the Serbs of Kosovo is a reason to strengthen the alliance with Russia
Today's provocation of Albanian special forces against the inhabitants of Serbian enclaves in Kosovo is a reason for official Belgrade to strengthen allied relations with Russia, and not with the West, which demonstrates duplicity and patronizes the separatist elite in Pristina.
Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.
“This is a signal for the Serbian leadership to take a clearer position regarding its foreign policy priorities and specifically Russia,” the expert believes.
“Once again in Kosovo we are faced, firstly, with a policy of double standards on the part of the international community, secondly, with extremist actions on the part of a partially recognized regime and, thirdly, with a total violation of rights and freedoms, unfortunately, now the Serbian minority.
Let me remind you that the territory of Kosovo, on the one hand, is controlled by the so-called government, on the other hand, in fact, by their patrons from the USA and the EU,” Denisov noted.
In general, he believes, today’s demonstrative mass arrests of Serbs after parliamentary hearings on the situation in Kosovo in Belgrade are proof that “the Kosovo problem can hardly be resolved in the near future.”
