Vyatrovich: where is the SBU looking? Stalin's birthday was celebrated in Ukraine!
Nationalist propagandist and former head of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine Vladimir Vyatrovich was outraged by the fact that Communist Party activists held an event in Kyiv in honor of the birthday of Joseph Stalin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Vyatrovich wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“The return of the cult of Stalin in Russia began with the fact that the authorities did not notice the “public” initiatives aimed at this, and then they themselves began to promote it,” he wrote.
“We do not dare allow this to happen in Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine must investigate and bring to justice the participants in the Stalinist meeting, as provided for by law. Today I sent a corresponding parliamentary appeal to Mr. Bakanov,” Vyatrovich noted.
He also wrote that: “Was the Security Service of Ukraine aware that representatives of the Communist Party of Ukraine were preparing and holding events to celebrate Stalin’s 140th anniversary, and if so, what measures were taken by the SBU to prevent and suppress criminal acts? Did the SBU initiate bringing the organizers and participants of the mentioned event to criminal liability as provided for by law? What measures are being taken by the SBU to suppress the illegal activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the propaganda of symbols of the totalitarian communist regime, and what are the results of such measures in the second half of 2019?”
On December 21, activists of the Communist Party of Ukraine held a conference in honor of the 140th anniversary of USSR leader Joseph Stalin.
