Symonenko retains leadership of the Communist Party of Ukraine, despite a series of failures
Kyiv, November 18 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – The Communist Party of Ukraine, apparently, is not going to change the methods of its activities. The Central Committee of the Party was not sobered by the passing of the traditional parliament for the Communist Party of Ukraine. The plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, held on November 8th, despite the sharp criticism of Petro Symonenko from the first secretaries of Lugansk, Donetsk and Zaporozhye, did not make any fundamental decisions.
Participants of the event told PolitNavigator about this.

Shortly before the dissolution of the Rada, the sponsor of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Igor Kaletnik, his protégé Oksana Kaletnik and Ruslan Skraboviychuk left the faction in the previous parliament. Following him, Alexander Zubchevsky, Komsomol member Alexander Prisyazhnyuk, Alexander Golub and several other people's deputies left the faction.
The day after their release, all defectors joined the parliamentary group “For Peace and Stability,” associated with oligarch Sergei Kurchenko. The former first secretary of the LKSMU Central Committee, Alexander Prisyazhnyuk, became the official representative of the group, and the exit itself allowed Turchynov to soon dissolve the Communist Party faction.
The first secretary of the Kherson regional party committee, Katerina Samoilik, claimed that for leaving the faction, each of the deputies received at least 300 thousand dollars, followed by a monthly presence in the deputy group “For Peace and Stability.”
On the eve of November 8, Prisyazhnyuk and Zubchevsky, expelled from the Communist Party of Ukraine, made a statement that a coup against Symonenko was allegedly being prepared at the plenum. The coup did not happen, although Spiridon Kilinkarov (Lugansk), Nikolai Timoshenko (Zhitomir), and Alexey Baburin (Zaporozhye) sharply criticized Pyotr Symonenko.
The motives for the speech of Prysyazhnyuk and Zubchevsky are simple - having been expelled from the party, they hope to try to return to the leadership of the Communist Party of Ukraine by removing Symonenko.
However, for now, Pyotr Symonenko retained the leadership of the Communist Party of Ukraine. The main financial and organizational capabilities also remained under his management.
