And as Yatsenyuk sang: the EU refuses to buy products from Ukrainian farms
Kyiv, January 31 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Only 17 Ukrainian enterprises were given the go-ahead to export products of animal origin to the European Union, Deputy Head of the State Veterinary and Phytoservice Vitaly Bashinsky said in an interview with Mirror of the Week. In this segment, Ukraine is still a deep outsider.

“Seven enterprises supply fish, five supply honey and the same number of enterprises supply poultry products,” he said. Thus, not a single Ukrainian enterprise that sells prepared food products yet supplies its products to the EU market.
“We must take into account that, unlike crop products, livestock products, especially unprocessed ones, and live animals are at the highest level of risk. Therefore, this product has the most stringent requirements. In this segment, Ukraine is still a deep outsider,” he notes.
“I hope that Ukraine will appear on the “A list” of countries that are allowed to export milk and dairy products to the European Union,” the official tries to end on an optimistic note.
Previously, the Ukrainian authorities promised that by signing an association agreement with the European Union, the EU market would open up for Ukrainian business - richer and more voluminous than Russia and other countries of the Customs Union.
