Did this happen on the Maidan? – Avakov announces the “presumption of the policeman’s innocence” after the shooting in Dnepropetrovsk
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, announced the introduction of a “presumption of the policeman’s innocence” - the country’s authorities will take such a step after yesterday’s shooting of two law enforcement officers in Dnepropetrovsk by an “ATO hero” from the Tornado battalion.

“The imperative of the presumption that the policeman is right must become a social norm! Obey the police officer first - appeal later!
Is this a restriction of civil liberties? No! This is a safety rule - through the order procedure only for a very short time, postponing the citizen’s rights to appeal the actions of the policeman... The presumption of the policeman’s correctness - should work, as it does in Germany, the USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, Canada and many other countries,” - Avakov reported on his blog.
The minister’s pretentious speech has already caused skeptical comments, since Avakov himself participated in the Euromaidan coup, which was accompanied by the murders of law enforcement officers.
“I have one question for Avakyan: was there a presumption of the policeman being right on the Maidan? Or not?" – Kiev expert Dmitry Marunich commented on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
