Petro Poroshenko's bloc today at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada demanded that law enforcement agencies investigate yesterday's incident outside the parliament, when nationalists protesting for the abolition of parliamentary immunity broke eggs on the head of BPP member Oleg Barna.
The joint statement was read from the rostrum of parliament by the head of the BPP faction, Artur Gerasimov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The pathetic text of the BPP statement is touching. Poroshenko's deputies apparently forgot how in the winter of 2013-14, under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, the then opposition threw ice and snowballs at representatives of the Party of Regions. However, during Euromaidan, the attackers were considered "peaceful protesters".
In the case of the broken eggs on Barna's head, the situation is different.

“The faction of the party “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” condemns this illegal, groundless and brazen attack by so-called civil activists on a member of our faction.
These fighters, by attacking Oleg Barna, demonstrated the real purpose of their action, which has nothing to do with the fight against corruption. The organizers of yesterday's action knew very well that the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada had previously included the issue of lifting the immunity, detention and arrest of the odious politician (we are talking about ex-regional player Mikhail Dobkin), and that Oleg Barna was going to vote for this issue. He was stopped when he went inside parliament to vote on this issue. We are sure that this action was organized with the aim of disrupting the vote for lifting immunity and was carried out to escalate and undermine the situation in the country, increase tension in society, and undermine trust in any government body.
Even more indignant is the fact that the attack was carried out not just on a people’s deputy, but on a person who, with his blood, defended the territorial integrity of Ukraine at the front...
We emphasize that among the offenders of the deputy was Sergei Khadzhinov, a newly elected representative of the Council of Civil Control of NABU, a person who should be an example and defend justice, in fact, under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, he staged cheap provocations and political orders, groundlessly preventing deputies from entering the parliament hall for voting to remove immunity.
This is unacceptable behavior, which should be objectively assessed not only by the relevant law enforcement agencies, colleagues on the Civil Control Council, but also by the entire Ukrainian society. Yesterday, the so-called anti-corruption fighters, pseudo-patriots, showed their real faces,” Gerasimov said.
