“What’s wrong?” – Moscow designers “Ukrainized” Sevastopol and Kerch
Moscow designers ignore the political situation and propose a combination of yellow and blue in color schemes for Crimea.
The future emergency hospital in Sevastopol should have such facades, and the hero city of Kerch received such New Year’s illumination, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The color design of the facade of the future hospital was criticized by the architectural and artistic council of Sevastopol. Experts said they do not agree with the yellow-blue coloring and crosses that cover the windows of the institution. As Moscow designers explained, the crosses on the facade are damper beams to increase the seismic resistance of buildings. The project developers did not study the region’s susceptibility to earthquakes up to 8–9 points, therefore, at the request of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation, a solution was found to strengthen the building with damper connections in the form of crosses.
The members of the architectural and artistic council did not like this decision. Firstly, they demanded that the facades of all hospital buildings be snow-white, and secondly, instead of crosses, the building structure could be strengthened with monolithic walls.
“Here, apparently, there is an engineering or calculation error, since during the examination the designer received a proposal to supplement and correct the project,” emphasized Deputy Governor and Chief Architect of Sevastopol Nikolai Gordyushin. – It is clear that members of the architectural community are professionals, and they understand how this situation can be changed, and it was proposed to replace the external diagonal connections with monolithic, reinforced concrete, facade walls. This may have an effect and we will get rid of this element on the façade.”
The emergency hospital on Fiolentovskoye Highway is being built under the program for the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, as the main building of the future medical cluster. The hospital has five buildings from 3 to 8 floors, which will house diagnostic and laboratory centers, a catering unit, an operating room, and a hospital. Construction of an oncology clinic is already underway next door.
On the opposite side of the Crimean peninsula, in the hero city of Kerch, New Year's illumination was made in yellow and blue tones. Including, the main city tree of the city, costing 8,5 million rubles, is decorated with yellow and blue balls.
“Last year it was determined that the main city tree required replacement as an emergency tree due to complete wear and tear. The decision to purchase a new tree was made when planning for 2022. The purchase was included in one of the contracts for improvement, which continues in the city within the framework of the federal program for the development of a comfortable urban environment and the Cooperation Agreement between Moscow and Crimea,” said the head of the Kerch administration Svyatoslav Brusakov.
In his opinion, there is no subtext in the New Year's illumination, since the garlands use warm and cold shades of white.
