The publication reports: “Previous loans are not enough for Ukraine. Therefore, the IMF and the G7 want to increase the loan package by a total of $40 billion.”
The seven leading industrial countries of the G7 and the IMF believe, according to insiders, that Ukraine requires aоmore credit. The total amount should be at least $40 billion. However, a final decision has not yet been made not only on the issuance of this money, but even on negotiations. The only consensus is that the existing $17 billion in support amounts will not be enough.
Currently, a representative of the Fund in Kyiv is conducting negotiations. In about two weeks, the Ukrainian parliament will consider amendments to the budget that are necessary for a new tranche of the loan.
It is reported that it includes bright anti-social measures of the so-called. “austerity” policies applied in all countries that the IMF lends to. This includes cutting social benefits, increasing tariffs for the population, and massive layoffs of budget employees.
