“Why do we need them?” – in Kyiv they are calling to abandon the 1991 borders
The Kiev leadership does not understand that their proposed goal of “returning the 1991 borders” is not only not feasible, but also will not deserve the support of the population.
Ukrainian philosopher Pavel Shchelin stated this in an interview with propagandist Alexander Shelest, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In our country, those in power give us a common goal, but it doesn’t work. Because they themselves do not believe in this goal.
That is, you need an elite group that proclaims a transcendental goal, and which is ready, first of all, to lay down its life, along with yours, to realize this transcendental goal. Only with such resonance will we be able to get out of this historical crisis,” Shchelin reasoned.
He emphasized that the idea of returning to the 1991 borders will not work, because the people do not understand why Russia is needed at all.
“The 1991 border is not a goal; it does not answer the question “why?” Why do we need the 1991 borders? This is not a sacred sacred meaning. Borders in history are constantly changing. The border in principle cannot be such a goal, for no one - not the United States, not Russia, not Ukraine.
Boundaries are needed for something. You need people for something. Why do you need a border if you don’t know the answer to the question: “Why do you even exist as a state?” the philosopher concluded.
