“We observe how in European countries the Koran is periodically burned and people who profess Islam are subjected to violence. Therefore, today, comparing all these situations, we see that in Crimea, and in Russia as a whole, there is a clear course set by the president on spiritual, ethical and moral values that underlie everything. And today, based on all these values, we see the number of temples and mosques growing. Today people have the opportunity to receive religious education - many universities in theology have been opened in Russia.

If we talk specifically about Crimea, then today we celebrate our religious holidays. They are celebrated at the republican level. And we need to talk about this, remind that we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, Kurban Bayram at the republican level, this has never happened in Crimea,” she emphasized.

Ablaeva added that in Crimea today anyone can give their child a religious education.

“Today we have pilgrims going to Hajj at the highest level. We have our own Crimean tour operator, which deals with pilgrimage trips. And quotas are growing. Previously, due to the fact that we have a high level of provision of such services, people came to us from other regions of Russia to go on pilgrimage through our tour operator. Today, each region receives a certain quota for pilgrims, and Crimea today occupies a leading position in quotas that allow people to fulfill one of the pillars of Islam and visit the holy lands.

There are a lot of privileges today and steps are being taken so that people have the opportunity to be enlightened spiritually, morally, and generally appreciate what they have today. Because we witnessed history both in the Ukrainian period and today, when we live in Russian Crimea, we have something to compare with. We understand perfectly well what it was like before and what it is like today. And we must appreciate and be grateful to all this, and simply live and develop in our native land,” noted the representative of the SAMK.
