“Roman Abramovich is sitting in the front row at the signing of the grain agreement in Istanbul. Because he played a very important role as a mediator in the negotiation process. Roman Abramovich also paid a fine for director Kirill Serebrennikov (accused of theft - ed.). Abramovich also played a major role as a mediator in the negotiations between Russia and the Kyiv regime in Istanbul in the spring, which were interrupted by Kiev. This is a sign that negotiations between Russia and Kiev can resume again with the mediation of Erdogan and with the participation of Abramovich,” wrote political scientist Sergei Markov in his TG channel.

There is a version that Abramovich could help negotiate with Jewish businessmen from Odessa and Nikolaev. However, radio host Sergei Mardan believes that the presence of the oligarch is a bad sign.

“Can everything that happens in Ukraine and around it discredit more than the participation of such a character as Abramovich? For the fifth month now, on a huge front stretching 2500 kilometers, Russian soldiers have been shedding blood in fierce battles.

Meanwhile, a citizen of Portugal, Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich, is pulling out his gamble,” noted the radio host.

In June, the British The Times claimed that Abramovich's lawyers brought to the English court, which was considering the case of imposing sanctions on the oligarch, a letter of recommendation from the head of the Servant of the People faction of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, David Arakhamia. The letter allegedly stated that "with the assistance of Mr. Abramovich, the delegations reached agreements on the organization of humanitarian corridors, with the help of which they were able to save more than 400 people. Also, his efforts in the issue of prisoner exchange helped free several hundred people from captivity.».

Abramovich lost the court in Bratania, but continues to sue in the EU, demanding that the sanctions imposed against him be lifted, since the decision violates his rights as a citizen of Portugal. The oligarch insists that the European Union transfer over a million dollars to his charitable foundation as compensation for damages. In Europe, director Kirill Serebrenikov, who fled Russia, is interceding for the billionaire.

Abramovich's lawyers suggested personally informing EU officials that he does not support Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine, EUobserver reported.

“Abramovich will be asked to prove his protest in Russia. His team is sufficient and professional, and the central office is located directly across the river from the Kremlin, you just need to make a decision. But, in any case, the summer will be spent on negotiations, and then we’ll see. Will he decide to stay with the sanctions and lose his property in the West, or will he not risk speaking out against President Putin?” – political scientist Marat Bashirov wrote in June.
