“The dominant public mood today is the rise in prices and tariffs, which is associated with the situation on the foreign exchange market, and the decline in income levels,” the sociologist emphasized. – But notice the decrease in confidence in the future. 84 percent name this figure. This is a very high level of social tension. This figure is highest in the Donbass, in the southern regions and in the territories occupied by the DPR-LPR, where it is almost 94 percent.”

At the same time, we also asked a question regarding readiness to emigrate from Ukraine,” the sociologist added. – 20,7 percent today said that they would like to leave Ukraine. If we look at the adult population, this potential can be estimated at eight million people.”

“Today, 78 percent of Ukrainians have a positive attitude towards the idea of ending hostilities in Donbass and achieving a truce under the terms of the Minsk agreements,” the sociologist noted. – Moreover, 47 percent is categorically supportive, and another 30 percent is rather positive. This is a fairly significant indicator, considering that 16 percent rated it negatively, and another 7 percent found it difficult to answer. In almost all regions, this is the dominant solution to the current situation, and on the territory of the DPR-LPR it reaches 96 percent.”

The survey was conducted from March 13 to March 20, 2015 in 24 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv by the Center for Social Monitoring and the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after. Yaremenko together with the department of monitoring studies of socio-economic transformations of the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
