Just yesterday there were five attacks by Arabs on Jews. Two of them occurred in Ra'anana. At 9 am, a 32-year-old man was slightly wounded with a knife there, who, despite being stabbed in the stomach, managed to cope with the 23-year-old Arab who attacked him with the help of passers-by who came to the rescue. The attacker was severely beaten and was hospitalized in serious condition upon police arrival. Four hours later, another Arab attacked four Jews with a knife, one of whom was seriously injured, the rest slightly injured. The attacker was detained by the police. Both Arabs were non-Palestinians and permanent residents of Israel.
But the bloodiest events on this day took place in Jerusalem. At about 10 am, two young Arabs entered the regular bus, one of whom was armed with a knife, and the second with a pistol, and used their weapons. As a result, two people were killed, another 15 received various injuries, including serious ones. Police and border guards killed one of the attackers, and the second was wounded and detained. At the same time, on Malkey Israel Street, an employee of a local cable operator drove his car to the stop where people were waiting for the bus. As a result, 60-year-old Rabbi Yeshiyahu Krishevsky was killed and seven other people were injured. The third attack of the day in Jerusalem occurred at about 11 o'clock in the area of the Nablus Gate. Today there was one attack there, but the bodyguard accompanying the Jewish family managed to shoot the attacker.
Similar individual terrorist attacks using mostly knives occur in the country every day, and their number is only growing. If at the beginning of the month there were usually one or two attacks per day, now there are four or five of them. The number of victims is such that the Israeli ambulance service Magen David Adom reported today a shortage of donor blood and appealed to citizens with a request for donation. Also, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon decided to allocate additional funds from the budget to pay for security in educational institutions. For government money, children and teachers will be protected until 13:00, and the time until 16:00 must be paid from the municipal treasury. This was a response to the demands of education workers, who otherwise threatened a large-scale strike. Nervous tension in the country is increasing every hour, people live in constant fear, expecting an attack at almost any moment on the street. Psychological help lines have been announced for those in need.
Another yesterday's episode eloquently testifies to the state of society. Around noon in the city of Kiryat Ata, another attack was carried out near an IKEA store. The man was slightly stabbed, and the attacker was captured by security guards at the shopping complex. It turned out that the crime was committed by a Jew who mistook his victim for an Arab.
The wave of violence is also harming Israel's tourism sector. A cruise ship with 3800 tourists on board canceled its call at the port of Ashdot. October is considered the peak of the cruise season in the region and several travel companies have already adjusted the routes of their ships, excluding Ashdot from them.
Today the decisions of the military-political cabinet, which held a meeting on security issues the day before, were published. Among the measures that, according to the Israeli government, should help stop the wave of terror is the decision to demolish the houses of terrorists, deprive them of their “permanent resident status in Israel,” increase the number of law enforcement officers serving in transport in Jerusalem by 300 people, with the allocation of the necessary funding, attract to ensure the protection of law and order in army units.
However, the opposite side of the conflict also suffers losses. Thus, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, as a result of clashes with Israeli police in the Palestinian territories during the period of escalation of the confrontation, 30 people died, 19 in the West Bank, 11 in the Gaza Strip.
