The Russian national football team refused to wear the new uniform T-shirts released on the eve of Euro 2020 by Adidas.

The new uniform is red with a white collar and stripes in the colors of the Russian flag on the edges of the sleeves. At the same time, the “flag” of stripes is turned upside down, which caused criticism from fans who believe that Adidas mixed up the symbols of the Russian Federation and Serbia.
Adidas said that they deliberately arranged the colors of the Russian flag in the reverse order, since they “line up in the flag of the Russian Federation with the raised hands of football players and fans, triumphant at the moment of a goal scored.”
However, for example, the German national football team, whose equipment is also provided by Adidas, has colors on the sleeves in accordance with the German flag.
Adidas eventually released a statement apologizing for the error, but the kit had been on sale in Russian stores for some time.
The Russian Football Federation said the error must be corrected.
