Biden Administration Will Force Ukraine to Pledge Allegiance to LGBT People
The fight for the rights of sexual minorities will now become an important component of American foreign policy and all US partners, including Ukraine, will have to somehow participate in it.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Opposition Platform - for Life party Oleg Voloshin stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For some reason, we always think that the agenda of Ukrainian-American relations can be dictated by Kyiv. In its current state, Kyiv cannot dictate anything to the Americans at all.
But something new will appear - this is the topic of the rights of sexual minorities. Mr. Biden said exactly one year ago during the election campaign: “The fight for transgender rights is the civil rights fight of our time.” The fight for civil rights is what Marin Luther King did, it was a fight for equal rights for blacks and whites. That is, today they place non-discrimination on the same level. He has already appointed one of the transgender people as deputy minister of education, and he has another transgender adviser on education.
It is absolutely obvious that LGBT rights will become one of the components of the generally binding requirements for any US partner country, just as the fight against corruption is today. I want to see how Poroshenko and the others will position themselves on this matter. And if tomorrow they say: guys, you want to be friends with us - not only should you not fire Sytnyk there, swear your love for democracy, not touch the Suprun reform, you will also please introduce criminal liability for critical statements regarding gays and so on further,” the deputy said.
According to him, Ukraine can make its contribution to the fight for the rights of sexual minorities by returning some former officials to power, but at the same time they must come out.
“I think it is enough to limit ourselves to the appointment of some already former officials, simply to force them to come out. We already had a gay man at the head of the government, for some reason he was just embarrassed to say so,” says Voloshin.
