This was reported by Reuters, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Trump administration on Tuesday removed Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab from two lists of approved suppliers used by government agencies to purchase technology equipment,” the report said.

According to the publication, such steps were taken against the backdrop of the fact that the company's cybersecurity products could be used by the Kremlin to enter US networks.

Thus, Kaspersky Lab was removed from the list of US general services providers, which cover services in the field of information technology and digital photographic equipment. Government agencies will still be able to use products purchased from Kaspersky separately from Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) contracts.

In turn, Kaspersky Lab said it has not received any updates from the GSA or any other US government agency regarding the status of its supplier.
