The lawyer of the dead putschists went on hunger strike
The lawyer for the families of protesters killed on the Maidan, Evgenia Zakrevskaya, declared a hunger strike.
She stated this on the air of the talk show “Right to Power,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Zakrevskaya explained her decision by saying that as of November 21, the Prosecutor General’s Office suspended the investigation into the cases of Maidan activists who died during the putsch. This is due to the reform of the prosecutor's office and the transfer of the case to the State Bureau of Investigation.
“Today is Dignity Day, and today is the first day when investigations into the Maidan cases actually stopped. This will happen until that moment, that is, it will not happen until the amendment, changes to the law on the State Bureau of Investigation, and specifically amendment 318 are voted on, which states that the investigators of the prosecutor’s office, who have been conducting investigations into the Maidan cases all this time, can go to the State Bureau of Investigation and continue this investigation in a new structure...
From today, from the day this investigation stopped, I will not eat until they pass this amendment, create this department and bring these investigators there. I promise you this. Please, now this is the situation,” Zakrevskaya said.
